Bicibox (Private Bike)

Bicibox is the project for a network of safe parking bays for private bicycles that ICNITA EMOVITY has designed for the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority. This project involved the installation of almost 2000 parking spaces in 17 municipalities of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.

Users can register on a web page or in the Customer Service Office, pay an initial fee depending on the type of subscription, and then use the modules under the conditions of this subscription.

An annual subscription enables access to the service for one year using an identification card. There is a maximum free parking time of 12 hours before a small charge is levied for each hour. The billing system is automatic and all costs charged to the credit card number provided by the user on registration.

The user identification cards use Mifare DESfire RFID technology to ensure the compatibility with future integrated public transport tickets.
